14641st poster gets a cookie (cookie thread (Part 7)) (Part 10)

It does also help if like, after ur done eating, u immediately put ur dish in the sink and put a little water on it to let it soak immediately. So food and oil and stuff never gets the chance to harden. And then it wipes off super easily

I had the habit of immediatley washing my dishes right after i eat. I should get back into it

Dishwashers often run at 145 degrees which would scald your hand. This may vary on model, but theory here is that water hot enough to harm bacteria would also harm you.

Fair enough

squeaky clean yes, breaking down any bacteria you can’t see no

do not do this it is a bad idea

and yes tutuu dishwashers operate at heat that would hurt your hands for a reason and generally do a better job of cleaning things as a result

I will raise a child. It will be the dishwasher in my house

also even if you’re only bursting the faucet on and off while cleaning the dishes, the two big things working against you are

1 - rinsing soap off of the dishes takes way more water by hand than a rinse cycle in a dishwasher

2 - you need to burst the water on and off individually for every single item, while a dishwasher can basically do it one time and get everything (which in most dishwashers is going to be a lot of dishes if run while anywhere near full)

tl;dr there is a time and place where handwashing makes sense (I do it personally right now) but if you are in a situation where using a dishwasher is not significantly less convenient you should probably just use it because it is basically just better in every way lol

i rinse off the plate (sometimes with or without dishwater soap) and then put it in the dishwater

yeah that kinda defeats the water savings and should really not be necessary most of the time

it helps my brain though :brain:

i know nbow alluded to the technology connections video earlier but like actually please do watch it i promise it will help give you a better understanding of how these devices work, what their advantages are, and how to get consistently good results from them

nono i know

my parents just prefer it this way i think so they always tell me to rinse it off lol before putting it in the dish water and i live in their house during breaks so i adhere to their rules

this is also because in indian culture we have a lot of curry-like things that will leave residue on the plate so it’s easier to just run it over water for a couple of seconds to get it off

It takes 140 liters of water to grow the coffee for 1 cup of coffee

most dishwashers should be able to handle that no problem so long as you’ve just scraped it off

show 'em the vid, be the change you want to see in the world

and hey the new version of the video is half the length of part 1 of the old video so you don’t even need to spend an hour of video watching lel

the people i subletted from last year used the dishwasher as a drying rack so i was forbidden from doing anything but hand-washing the dishes

they were problematic for other reasons

FLACCO STARTING QB

I DO NOT HAVE A RAPIST AS MY QB1 RN WOOO

i mean i currently dont ever use the dishwasher but like i do not use enough dishes to fill it up without taking so long that the stuff in there would be rancid, i dont even own enough dishes to get to that point, and i share only a small handful of plates, bowls, and utensils with my roommates who might want to have one of our, like, six bowls not be sitting in the dishwasher dirty

if we owned more stuff or used the dishes more (its mostly just me and the other guy using anything but the silverware) we’d use the dishwasher, but as it is it just wouldn’t make much sense

so yeah its not that handwashing is always bad, just that dishwashers are better if they’re an option that works for your situation
