I use alot of acronyms, sometimes I make them alphabetic and this works wonders for whatever reason. I used to learn geography with my BFF by renaming the rivers or just use the most random mnemonics to remember whatever features Austria or Greece has.

Like, sometimes I don’t mind using predictable stuff, but personally I find it more fun if things weren’t always predictable.

From what I have observed, complex mechanics simply screws over rationality. Hence why I make them in hopes people would abandon it.

…which is rather sad.

Because if or “when” I succeed and players abandon mech… then all effort I spent into making these setups would be for naught.

Not that I think this will happen any time soon though. People would have to drop their prejudices on roles before this happens.

…or am I just projecting my own prejudice to my players? Hm. . . Being self-aware isn’t always good, it seems.

It's been such a long time, yet it feels as if the backlog never decreases.

Birds and Cats failed to fill up “recently”. The roles inside are mediocre, but the concept isn’t half-bad. If anything, I’m still upset that Names Redacted failed to gain traction. Was it really RL circumstances that failed that game, or was it simply unattractive. Are my games getting stale? Perhaps I have been too open. Should I reformat all my setups to be more ambiguous? Perhaps the mechanics were unattractive. Should I be less open about them? It seems that nowadays I always hide the stuff I find to be nasty under pretext of ‘Experimental’. Will all my games become Experimental? Probably, seeing as ‘Semi-Bastard’ is no longer a thing.

It appears that I also have Kakegurui Overhaul that I never officially submitted in the thread. (Though it’s on the queue. I gotta fix that sooner or later.)

…nineteen games. Twenty if I were to add Names Redacted. I still have around twenty games in the backlog from about two years ago. So many games have been played, yet it also feels as if no games were played at all.

I’ve hosted about… nine games tops ever since I made the Twenty Shots at Wazza? Excluding the ones that got cancelled, of course. Nine games… It’s probably closer to six games tops in the past two years. As time passes by, my tastes keep changing as well. My standards keep rising. [Standard] roles no longer satisfy me, so I had to drop out two setups. (IDK where I’m going with this paragraph anymore. I lost my train of thought.)

These twenty-ish setups. They’re probably enough to keep the Special Queue fed until 2030. However, by then they would no longer be ‘up-to-date’ either. Even now, I am hosting games I designed two years ago. What about next year? Three years ago. And the year after that? Four years ago. I am forgetful, so I wouldn’t even recognize my own work. If… no. Rather: When I make new setups, they seem to have the tendency to have priority over the setups I made in 2024. Encroaching Darkness, Kakegurui Overhaul, April Showers Forlorn. It is good to see that I am still making setups, but… when will I ever finish my backlog? Are they doomed to forever rot? If so, I might as well remove them from the queue as to not fill up space…
