DO bring math into the table thbththbhtbhtb
Oh, I’m giving you agency alright. Heck, I’ll even give agency to the others by letting them do nothing. However, this ultimately means that how the ability is used is up to the user, no?
For instance, let's take a look at Potion Vendor
Potion Vendor gives other players an item that can heal them. IIRC it was in that game when a player had paranoia about the potions being poison instead -which, doesn’t make sense since it wasn’t a bastard game- but it made me think: “What if I turn that idea into reality?”
Introducing Plague Vendor
The effect is genuine; you will get healed by drinking the potion. However, it is other players’ passives that does their own thing, which could result in bad stuff happening to those who drank from the potion. The unseen mechanics may not be public at the start of the game, but they are there. I now see that this will be viewed as Experimental, which I frankly don’t like the sound of, but I suppose I’ll have to concede.
Anyhow, back to the original point: How players use their ability is up to them. Admittedly, I did set up precedence which raises “arguably” unnecessary doubt to players who would not like to experience suffering from unseen mechanics. …there is no but. I did that, and now you just have to live with it. I raised the bar for givers to sell their product, and takers to use the product.
If a poll were to show up, asking: “Do you think X is a cat, yes or no?” It is completely up to the other players if they would vote in their Role PM or simply ignore it, and it is up to the user to get people to vote “something”, “assuming there is some sort of benefit for voting [anything]”.
Vanilla is boring, but it is the golden standard. Thus I present you: “Mechanics so complicated that you would ponder whether to adapt to the new level, or return to mountainous.”
Oh, I’m giving you agency alright. Heck, I’ll even give agency to the others by letting them do nothing.
Hm… In hindsight, I suppose I failed one aspect: “To make the ability predictable.”
It is public, and you can react to it, but… can you really predict everything I have in store?
I did. Twice even. Except it exists within an unreviewed setup, and I myself don’t see it getting reviewed any time soon, considering everyone’s IRL schedule around this time of the year.
Like, sometimes I don’t mind using predictable stuff, but personally I find it more fun if things weren’t always predictable.
From what I have observed, complex mechanics simply screws over rationality. Hence why I make them in hopes people would abandon it.
…which is rather sad.
Because if or “when” I succeed and players abandon mech… then all effort I spent into making these setups would be for naught.
…it’s a funny feeling.
…it’s a funny feeling.
If I were to ever achieve my plan, then I would be… Heh. I would be “suffering from success”.

Not that I think this will happen any time soon though. People would have to drop their prejudices on roles before this happens.
…or am I just projecting my own prejudice to my players? Hm. . . Being self-aware isn’t always good, it seems.
“Prime number”
A number only divisible by itself and [1].
Example: 2, 3, 5, 7
“Non-prime number”
A number that is not prime.
Example: 1, 4, 6, 8
Assuming normal FM games don’t last longer than eight Cycles, this “prime” stuff is quite an interesting feature, won’t you agree?
Cycle: Use all stocks to restock
Level: Use stocks in order before restock
Season: Stocks are available at specific time
Burnout: Limited stocks
“Forbidden words” …is such a stupid mechanic without any restrictions. What if I make the forbidden word “what”? Then everyone would say it! No: There needs to be another criteria for a word to be forbidden. It cannot be easy to use. It has to be… complex.
deep fried food looks so hideous. except fries
In a setup without any third parties, there are only two parties. The third slot makes it impossible for the user to abuse the predetermined numbers, but… you (Zone) might want to add a restriction such that the user can only use [alignment] on one slot.
…oh! Nice idea, me!
like how do u go “mmmm i wanna put this in my mouth nyom nyom nyom nyom nyom”. and so much oil wasted
why does this look better than some of my high school’s food
ur basically showing someone raw chicken and then goin “why would u eat this”
bc thats not ehats being eaten (unless u eating straight from the fryer in which case good for u)
Hot chips work but are still inferior to potato chips… corn dogs or whatever just seem unappetising.

I refute your point (in the shallowest way possible because I don’t disagree).
like how
With ease.
and so much oil wasted
“There is a supply for every demand.”
Regardless of any waste created in the process.
Let’s agree to disagree.
I am salivating looking at them.
Recreating the Yaggababble from ground up.
