iām thinking about the trope of āgood guy turns every bad guy to their side with the power of friendshipā and it feels myeh in the show. i guess you can pretty easily justify lilith but hunter and the collector prolly shouldāve at least had more of them being evil and any real moral conflict instead of āiām evil, iām slightly less evil, the protags have now had The Talk with me and now iām goodā as progression states. also the villain they ended up with is just the most boring villain in the series overall. i get they want to show off āheās facist and must be expunged from the earth and everyone else is redeemableā but heās so boringggg he lost all of anything in s1 and just becomes a figurehead of being the evil guy to kill because heās evil

avatar is in a pretty similar bracket but it has its āiām going to be good nowā character(s) treated way better and with a lot more of a focus than the villains of each season that get turned good in a way that i liked better. also although she theoretically couldāve been not everyone was redeemed by the power of friendship!! (in this show, dunno about korra) thereās characters besides the bbeg facist that didnāt swap alignments which makes it actually have decent weight compared to every villain with real tangible story weight besides belos swapping sides.

You kinda gotta look at the show through how it exists. Both redemption arcs for the collector and hunter happened after the cancellation where dhit did just have to be rushed, but even then they were handled well.
It also feels like youre looking at these characters as evil when they simply had different goals than the main character at first. Belos is defintley like, evil lol, but hunter and the collector just had anti-MC goals that still came from places of good intenfjons
The collector is just a kid. This is why theyre very easy to redeem, bc they reslly arent this evil Malevolent being, they want to help and go on fun adventures and learn how to be good, which is why they are turned so easily
Hunter was also just like, raised in abuse and in a very specific enviornment, and even then his good intentions (mainly coming from being a sort-of clone of caleb) still shine through with a lot of what he does. His morals and potential deviancy shine through with things like flapjack in hunting palismen, and thats expanded upon and built upon him being slightly anti-empire until like. Hollow mind happens. And like if you had your entire worldview flipped like that and then go into a paranoid breakdown for multiple episodes, and pretty much getting PTSD from Belos simply existing, then like yeah youd feel very confused and not want to help belos anymore lol
Its a little fast yes, but i think the arcs of enemies to friends work super well in the owl house bc we see clearly that very few of these characters have evil intentions, theyre just misunderstood or have different goals, which i think is a super important thing tk show in a kids show! Things arent black or white, peoples lives are just different
Except belos he was a colonizer hes unequivocally evil lmaooo

But i feel like the way ur interpreting this show doesnt actually apply any of the nuance the show gives you, it almost feels like ur looking for none bc āits a kids showā
I remembered disagreeing heavily with ur interp of the first few episodes but didnt say anything bc im too autistic and itd uncharitable

Iād be willing to bet you still are most likely to gravitate towards things youāve been listening more to recently, on average, rather than always listening to every song with exactly equal odds over time
And things you havenāt really listened to in a while count as effectively new for the purposes Iām speaking of
