And I think a lot of people understand this can happen in the abstract but think ā€œyeah me and my friends donā€™t do it, we just protect and support each other when weā€™re threatened, and otherwise weā€™re totally peacefulā€

But most people are assholes because they feel themselves or their friends have been threatened

nyaaaaaa yeah I think itā€™s ideal if people can disagree while still like, being respectful and being able to separate opinions they disagree with from the rest of their interlocutorā€™s personality

Cause these people seem to have genuine sincere belief that this Guy They Donā€™t Like Because Heā€™s Annoying is a bad person who deserves it. Many of the other Guys They Donā€™t Like have very credible-sounding allegations of Legitimate Harm against them (note: I was there for several of the described incidents and theyā€™ve been telephoned into something much larger than theu actually were)

But AFAICT he literally hasnā€™t done anything to hurt anyone except being annoying. And there they are changing all their fucking MMOLB teams to bugs because heā€™s afraid of bugs and they hate him

itā€™s just a math forum but they have a lot of user-created forums (which does include two ~~~~official debate places but those are also. not very good from what i know)
