yeah I mean like. Iām basically a consequentialist, I donāt think itās never /ethical/ to cause suffering (e.g. I think itās fine to put a serial killer in prison even though they will probably have a bad time (although ofc I support various forms of prison reform)), but the suffering shouldnāt be the point, it would be better to achieve the same goal with less suffering

Recently I saw the phrase thereās a difference between being patient and testing someone elseās patience in a comedy skit and now you guys will all see the video
I canāt say Iāve thought about this too deeply but Iām at āthere are times bad people deserve to suffer, but (assuming there were no positive effects) it would still be morally wrong to make them suffer just because theyāre badā
