democrats: I hate this person but whatever. I picked them because I thought maybe youād tolerate them. The whole āoppressing brown peopleā thing was like 20 years ago, we barely think about it.

From my perspective there have been tons of voices and people who have been actively āstanding upā as much as newsom. Jasmine Crockett for example. (except thereās a stark difference between the messaging and coverage the two get, iāll give the people a sec to guess why)
Newsom has a pretty rough recent track record of
- podcasting with charlie kirk and scapegoating trans people on sports instead of, you know, just not feeding that beast
- actively pro-israel
- horrible mishandling of HSR and single payer healthcare in CA
Like, if the people who like what heās saying can see itās clearly super self-interested trying to boost his own political profile, how about the people who are neutral or donāt like it?
Heās like if kier starmer and hillary clinton had a horrifying lovechild. He is trying to boost his own primary profile which is bad because heās sleazy, dislikeable, and incredibly unappealing to anyone but to the fifth of the country thatās between 3/5 and 4/5 āto the leftā.
