TIL “in-” is from Latin origin whereas “un-” has Germanic roots. (Quite the interesting knowledge for me, who has read Undead Unluck from start to finish.)

TIL…

I also learn why people are confused by “inflammable”. That “in-” is not a negation; it’s a “cause to be”. (E.g., indentation.) It’s not “fire-proof”. It causes fires.

Monstrare. To show. To point out.
Monstrum. Sign. Omen.
Demonstration. Completely showing or pointing something out.
Monster. Divine omen → Sign (of misfortune). Abnormal shape. Human or animal with deformation.

Nope. It was Thomas.
(Also, another member of the cloth has arrived: Jebadaiah.)

Right, uh. I forgot. I was wrong. He didn’t wish to capture one of the creatures. (Or at least, it isn’t his main priority.) His agenda was this:

Surprisingly, nothing much happened on Tetch’s end. (From start to finish.) I thought he’d be replaced by one o’ those shapeshifters, but nope: He just got dragged away by some entity.

Poor lad though. Went southwards twice, got injured twice, suffers from bloodloss twice. It ain’t good for his health –that’s for sure.

Swords with full hand protection (rapiers, sabers) are times more effective in a 1v1 duel versus swords without. Assuming not heavily armored, in which case all swords are ineffective

The best melee weapon has always been the spear (again barring full plate armor. In that case they wrestled each other to the ground and stabbed with dagger at weak spots or at the visor. Or better yet they used blunt or piercing weapons)
