Oh, also: During my time as Darion, there was something else I noticed.

I suck at estimating time. I know time is a subjective matter that is relatively different from one human to another; time flies by, etc. In my case, I don’t feel it.

The reason I constantly kept checking my watch like a madman was because I passively fail to connect the duration of an action with reality. I always need time to process my latest actions (because I’m forgetful), so I fare worse in RTS and FPS games, and better in RPGs and turn-based games.

I am fortunate that time didn’t matter too much in Monster Mistery 0. Since the premise of the story was to be dropped inside a room with monsters, I had to work with anything I could get my hands on, and one of such were the watches.

Due to the lack of information I had, everything on that watch became super important; my character’s name, his race, his status, and the most important one (I thought): the time.

I was afraid of interaction, so I pushed that back and decided to spend/waste my first timeline on researching my surroundings. While it was unfortunate that I found nothing, the world fortunately continued, and I learned that nothing was hidden in the starting room.

Later on I learned that travelling costs a somewhat-fixed amount of time, but prior to that I was struggling with making sense of: “How long does this action and/or speech take?” Fortunately, at some point I dropped my guard down a little bit and checked the watches… somewhat less frequently. (I still do them frequently because they are amazing markers for events, but at least I didn’t check them every 2 seconds anymore.)

This is what the friend has, and I’m slightly terrified that if I don’t get my stuff together, I will just be doing their stuff the entire time.
