He started multiplying the row and column numbers, (with alternating the numbers.) and noted down the numbers which landed between 19 477 and thirty thousand…

It’s quite obvious after a few glance.

marluna i know you’re hella smart and good with numbers but like, speaking for myself, this isn’t true for everyone

so i think it comes off a little tone-deaf to say it’s quite obvious, no offense

im ngl there was no way that was meant in the mean-spirited way you interpreted it

im not saying it was meant in a mean-spirited away; im saying it can come across meanly

i don’t think marluna had the intention of coming across in that way, but i think it did come across in an unintended way, which is what i was commenting on

psure thats just an ESL moment and the intended delivery was closer to “once you look it over it becomes readily apparent what the pattern is without needing to check every single example”

from experience, non-native english speakers tend to use the word “obvious” in significantly more contexts than would be deemed socially acceptable in everyday conversation - i think the connotations of the word probably aren’t readily apparent to somebody who hasn’t grown up speaking the language their whole life

i am a non-native english speaker as well

here’s one of my favorite examples lmao

the all-caps “OBVIOUSLY” comes off as insanely rude and I was deffo a bit put off by it but i showed up and the same guy checked me in and he just said the word a lot and didn’t mean anything by it :joy_cat:
