Decided it’s a terrible idea to spend money on earbuds so instead I’m going to get wings and probably die due to not ever having tried blazing knockout before (or anything hot)

i have tried many different combinations of wired/wireless audio products.

wired devices sound better, but the wire is a real cost.

wireless devices are significantly more convenient.

i can’t tell you how many times wired earbuds got ripped out of my ears because they got tangled up in something. i also use earbuds in periods that last a few hours at most. wireless ear buds often come with a case that can charge them so you have both a nice way to carry them around and keep them charged on the go. the difference in sound quality is less noticeable between wired and wireless earbuds (at least in my experience) so wireless earbuds is the easy choice for me.

wireless headphones do not spark joy. they had some utility, but it was so rare that i actually did anything with them where it mattered that it was really hard to justify the hassle of keeping them charged and the lower sound quality which was very noticeable compared to my wired headphones. i also may wear them for long periods of time so weight and comfort is pretty important. weight is actually kind of interesting because i’ve had higher quality wired headphones that were definitely heavier than wireless ones in the same price bracket (which makes sense if you think about it), but a bit lower down in the wired bracket you have comparable or less weight. a typical cord is genuinely fucking annoying because it tugs if it’s too short and you have to take it off more frequently to do things around the room, and if it’s too long it looks messy and can randomly get caught on things or be in the way of drawers. a coiled cable is hands down the best cord because you really do just get the best of all worlds. the only wired headphones i’m aware of that come with a coiled cable i know of are the sony MDRs and they sound genuinely great for their price point. it’s why i recommend them for wired headphones regardless, and the marginally better sounds i get from higher quality headphones just is not worth the lost convenience. wireless headphones are more convenient but the way i use headphones just doesn’t take advantage of them being wireless so im just an MDR girlie at this point.

they weren’t bad but like things that are less spicy can be made to taste better unless you really like the taste of the peppers they have to use to get the heat

What’s good flavors
