26829th poster gets a cookie (cookie thread (Part 7)) (Part 11)

This announcement strikes me as a “There is a deeper reason why this must be the case, as on any other site you would absolutely never do this” -

you’re welcome to look at my games on your own time

i lost as lash

:sparkles: Today I hung out with my BFFs and I m genuienly happy that as minimally I held a convo as I m still not sure what topics to talk about with them, we still had a good time, for one of them I wasn’t sure if our friendship was phasing out but now I feel more sure that we’re still friends who genuienly care for each other.

For once in a while in 2 years, it felt really nostalgic strolling the very simplistic streets of my very small neighborhood or of not such a big bigger town. And I m relief that in terms of these 2 nothing changed into being more strangers than friends.

I feel like on most other sites this has always been the default? Like I can’t imagine getting added to a role PM on MU from a previous user instead of modbot sending me a new role PM. We had something that was more permissive, probably encountered the reason other sites don’t allow that, and then updated our guidelines to match ~everywhere else. Not really seeing what’s so odd about that tbh

IIRC stratagem-15 had a town slot get ~cleared due to the replacement player seeing rolecard posts from the previous player

also “rules are created in response to problems” is like, how every rule everywhere ever was created, yes

i guess i just dont understand what specifically you’re getting at here

Are you saying we should take a pass to re-word things somehow? Organize the list better? Hard to figure out what actions we can/should take with so few specifics

reminder that I threatened to use ai in every single one of my posts in sf1 and the next day they banned it

sometimes they are written in fear of blood

Hm… Yeah, that sounds about right.

Somehow, reading this line reminds me of this YT short:

If I had to guess what Jake wants, then it’d be a list of every rule we have that wasn’t established during the creation of this site, and then an explanation of how those rules came to be. (I.e., what event / game made the mods add those rules to the list.)

Well, yes, it’s an announcement

Like, if you mean “Send the player a fresh copy of the rolecard instead of forwarding them their previous tennant’s role”, then it makes much more sense than what I was thinking, which is “Give this replaced player a custom-made role pm specifically for this occasion, changing the slot’s abilities/alignment entirely.”

Basically:
P#3 - Replacing out strategically
P#4 - Allowing big posts; Allowing players to “refer to DMs”
P#5 - Angleshooting
P#6 - Host weaponization
P#7 - Excessive appeal to emotion
P#8 - Discussions involving flags and ignoring features
P#9 - Replacements got access to predecessor PM
P#10 - Usage of third party programs
P#11 - Gamethrowing by not learning one’s own alignment
P#12 - Mafia conceding early

Because the latter is definitely not what anyone else (that I know of, I haven’t played on MU that much if at all) does.

It means “make a new PM” not “make a special new role” lol

NGL, “new player → new role” kinda sounds awesome.

Now it makes more sense, because PMs on this site work like creating new threads rather than sending each other letters in the post

they have that. it’s called signups.
