and in doing so, it eradicated everyone who was trying to demolish it

demolition teams are high leveled people who the government give the ok and train to eradicate dungeon cores. There are 49 dungeon cores at all time - once one dies another take its place, in doing so they mark dungeons that provide economic boons or are pretty safe and helpful to humanity prospering and are trying to rid the dungeons that aren’t. They usually do this not by directly killing the dungeon core, but dragging it outside the dungeon territory where it will die automatically, extracting the dungeon core basically from its home. They basically kill dungeons and hope for a better rand in a future dungeon.

I’m not exactly sure the mechanic of the dungeon exploding, perhaps they design their dungeon to crumble if certain parts are removed as a safety measure? Or perhaps they just explode in some fashion? Whatever the case - the dungeon killed itself in order to rid itself of the parasites.

In the book, I know the dungeon core we are following decided to go for a tower, which hasn’t been done before, dungeons are usually vertical downwards or horizontally, this allows a lot more room for traps, for example…crumbling the structure of a dungeon floor? If the entire dungeon collapses and you are at the top, you will die. Being high leveled in this story doesn’t make you invincible which is interesting and is something I’ve seen done in other works to. How I took down the demon kingdom novel iirc, demons did not ride dragons because if they fell they would die, even the demon king is not stupid enough to do this.

The funniest moment in the entire novel was the demon king son explanining how a lich was going to quickly become a threat, despite them being on friendly terms with demons and working together. The lich was trying to find a way to make sure it body will survive outside. In its latest experiment, she managed to survive outside for a solid minute . The demon king son explained this to the demon king who didn’t really get the significance of this, until he repeated it in stronger terms.

If the lich can bolster itself against what they consider to be the strongest magical source of all, the sun…for a solid minute…

I personally think there are 50 and they just do not know what the last one is, but I haven’t finished it. 49 is just a really weird number, imo

so’s 50. i personally think there’s six billion and they’ve just failed to classify doors as dungeons

During the party I was constantly blowing the uh. Party thing? Idk what it’s called. You blow into it and it uncurls and then it curls back. It’s easy to break those by biting them apparently
