I just now remembered the time when I was working retail and told this awkward ass lie about. like. so I was helping some woman load her car and she asked me if I went to X high school (I think I had just immediately previously just kinda nodded along at her assuming I had just graduated high school when I referred to just graduating (I had meant college) because it was just Easier for a bunch of reasons) and I was just like. Yeah. Cause again just simpler to nod along. I didnt go to an actual high school for “high school”. And didnt want to end up getting into it or make up some other lie. And she was like oh huh why’d you go there (this was a reasonably local school but ig not one we were actually zoned for) and I was just like uh I dunno :joy_cat: and hoped I just sounded like a checked out teenager about it LMAO

I had a really cool conversation with an uber driver once that I cannot for the life of me remember what was about

just say something like “that’s none of your business” or a more polite version. it’s super unlikely they’d escalate but it would give you time to do math regardless. the uber driver was probably trying to make polite conversation and won’t wanna do anything to get a bad rating

i had a lyft driver picking me up from the bike shop where i dropped off my scooter because it was broken post being hit by a car (he asked “what happened to your bike” and i was like uhh. hit by car. too tired to lie) try to tell me what to do with my insurance and how to get compensation for literally everything i was doing including the ride itself and then lecture me on not being hit by cars and also avoiding the area near the bike shop because it was “spanish” and doing well in school. it was weird. i was dying in death boggle at the same time

like they weren’t very welcoming to ‘newcomers’

was really awkward lmao

oh I see. insular as in “everyone but us is awful, all their ideas are awful and their view on mafia are completely foolish as are their opinions of people outside our community.”

like qbcord.

meh it wasn’t about ideas

it was just isolating

and it’s not the broader qbcord that thinks like that either

I don’t think qbcorders think this way at all…
