if you’re generally reliable about doing the work, turning it in on time, not blatantly half-assing it, etc., your teachers will often be more lenient about giving extensions when you need them (tbc, this might sound snarky, but it’s a legitimate tip!)
your teachers almost certainly don’t want to fail you in the course (even if the above doesn’t apply), so if you think you’re at risk of failing, they may be willing to work with you on alternatives to let you make up some points
