I wish they weren’t that way, and I’m glad I’m not like that, and insofar as I am like that (because I’m not perfect) I seek to avoid and eliminate it. I think the trait they have is not good, and I wish they didn’t have it. I call this “looking down on people”, because I believe the way they are is a worse way to be than the way I am
that is an acceptable explaination that voids my doubts

I tend to describe my own feelings in a way that’s overly harsh because I like to be very polite. Makes me feel like an asshole to believe “this person’s goals aren’t as good as mine”

i have figured it out!
it is because i want people to relate to and i have none
i treat people i artifically view as ~vaguely similar to me fairly strictly due to that
which isn’t to be confused to me being short with others for other reasons

Math isn’t something I actively will feel eye-squint about but that’s because I’m a hypocrite + there’s always a chance of applications + it’s a collaborative field that becomes meaningful to other people

The person I’ve been thinking of through this discussion is a high school friend of mine who went to a very expensive college that their parents paid for in order to study graphic design. And it’s like, I’m told many times that I shouldn’t feel that this is lame to do and I should respect all career paths in life. But I do nonetheless believe this is lame to do
