27772nd poster gets a cookie (cookie thread (Part 7)) (Part 10)

(Specifically I don’t understand everybody talking about how bad turkey tastes cause I’ve never experienced it even being overcooked… it’s weird seeing everyone talk like it’s a universal experience. Maybe I’m the strange one.)

If a medieval peasant time travelled to our era, the one thing he or should would do is scold us for being so lazy and sitting around all day.

I thought 2 was too obvious tbh.

I did think 4 was marissa vibed at first

i have never in my life had a genuinely great oven-roasted turkey

good enough to eat sure but never something that I loved

The only turkey ive eaten is smoked turkey breast from the store

i mean turkey is a top tier deli meat so it does have that going for it

i never eat turkey since turkey is more expensive than chicken is and is also harder so chicken clears easily

chicken has more potential to be Stringily

i had it like once when i was 10 and the entire time i was thinking how some chicken would be nicer instead

never ran into that problem, only time it is like that if its homegrown chickens that are old and u cull them or whatever the name for that is

at that point you can only make broth from that yeah since the meat is super hard and chewy

FoLer209381: Hey guys im thinking about getting a watch

Orangeandblack5: I mean if you’re not wearing a Casio you’re just wasting your money tbh. A $40 F91W gives has a 7-year battery life, 1/100-second stopwatch, alarm, auto calendar, and accuracy of ±30 seconds a month, which is all you’ll ever need. And the style is versatile so you really shouldn’t have a problem finding one you like. I’ve never seen a better watch in my life. They might be a little pricier than what you could get on amazon but if you’re going to buy a watch it should be one that lasts. :stuck_out_tongue:

Notblackorwhite: The decline in watch-wearing reflects a larger structural shift driven by corporate control over everyday technologies. A watch gave people quick access to information without redirecting their focus. As major technology companies expanded their influence, they replaced simple tools with devices that fold timekeeping into a broader system of constant engagement. Checking the time on a phone is no longer a neutral task. It is an entry point into an ecosystem designed to capture attention and generate data. This shift reduces public awareness in a very practical sense. People are encouraged to look down at their screens, not at their surroundings or at one another. The loss of the watch is therefore not trivial. It signifies how corporations have normalized a mode of interaction that keeps individuals occupied, individualized, and easier to influence. Instead of facilitating everyday social awareness, these devices channel attention back into corporate platforms where behavior can be tracked, shaped, and monetized. It shows how quickly simple, independent tools are replaced by systems that isolate users and redirect their attention toward commercial interests rather than their immediate social environment.
