I dunno if it was a victim of being overhyped or what but I wasn’t blown away by outer wilds

I could appreciate what it was doing for sure, but i found certain aspects too annoying, the time loop and having to restart constantly got irritating especially with the fiddly execution of some challenges, and the whole thing felt like it was laying out an enormous checklist to me, which ruined the aspect of exploration/discovery

it’s a very unique game for sure even as i could compare the various strands it’s drawing on to other games, and i get why people loved it, it just didn’t really hit for me

that shit made me so deeply motion sick that i could play for maybe 30 minutes at a time. To do anything you need to use the ship and controlling it would make me so close to throwing up I had to put it down and lay down.

it got worse over time (I was fine at first but the gravity crystal things that make walls as if they’re the floor made me SUPER sick and then it made me feel sick at the ship too) so i quit. I was having fun, I liked the gimmick but it didnt stick with me because none of the like 20 plot points I was working on went anywhere.

yeah i just gave up. it’d get worse the more i did it and more things were making me sick, i was worried i was lowering my threshold for that stuff.
