fwiw, if it’s relevant to your opinion here, most of the authors I know feel neutrally or positively about the existence of fanfic of their work – like, ‘oh, people cared enough about my story to write fanfic of it!’ not ‘wtf, how dare they desecrate my story!’

(not all of them, I definitely know some who are bothered by it. but, like, extreme example here, my mom has literally written fanfic of her own work and posted it on Ao3)

No, it’s not really relevant on my opinion, tbh. At least I’m happier most author has this viewpoint. And I probably would fine with SOME fanfics of my characters, but there is a minority of characters, I don’t really want to see in situations I didn’t intended them to be in. (or they would refuse to be.) Mostly because I engineered their character around their relative relationships.

My experience with fanfics, that most people try to force scenarios, which just wouldn’t realistically happen. and even the ones which could happen, just feels off for some reason. (It’s like when you see an artist to mix a specific color, but when others (or in some cases you) mix very similar (or even the same) starting colors, you just see on the resulting colors, that something is different, and you just aren’t comfortable with the end results, even when others say it’s same as the original. I can’t really explain it better. And characters are way more complex, than colors/color theory)

LMAO BASED ARET MOM

That’s just rude.
There is no ettiquette of not saying gg, if you think the game was good, just because you won.
There are some times, when people shouldn’t use gg, but if you meet those players, you avoiding them probably won’t be because they said gg at the end of the game. (also they probably use the more deritative versions, like gg no re or gg ez…)

Saying “bad game (or bg)” or “Bye losers” are less approriate, but I still meet some players saying these occasionally… and I still don’t hate/avoid them in later games.

Tbh i think george r.r. martin had a kinda interesting take in his “back when I was young fanfic used to mean works that took heavy inspiration from other properties” thing (but i dont remember it all too well)
