a lot of video games also have sequels that are better

but im not sure if thats fair since improvement often includes gameplay changes and noninteractive sequels don’t have the ability to change that

…i have to assume the artist’s first work tends to be less good than their second in the majority of cases, if we count it as “full albums”

but i guess that’s not necessarily fair since it would be like rating somebody’s first book against a later book

rather than the next book in the same series

music doesn’t often have the same kind of sequel progression ig

but that effects sequels either way, regardless of same continuity. plus the first tends to be relatively smaller world building wise which can be built off of

For tv series i think it’s rare for season 1 to be worse than 2

like everyone with basic taste can agree red room vol. 1 is worse than the owl and the elephant which is probably worse depending on how you choose than counterfeit arcade but then it gets really muddy
