I think second album is notoriously almost always worse than first tbh
first album you get published as a musician/band is a collection of all your ideas and songs, typically written over a (long) span of years for as long as you have been trying to finally break big
second album is “oh shit we have had a massive hit album and we now have a big agent who is pressuring us for a second album within a year or two”
Nobody ever wants to listen to me about Dream of the Red Chamber. It is the best book of all time.
It’s fair cause I don’t think I would’ve kept up with it in the same way if I didn’t have book club to keep up with & discuss it with. And it’s like. “How good it is really sets in around the 40th chapter or so” which is not easy.
My problem is that my favourite book is one of the most popular books in the world. Exclusively in a language I don’t speak
I think it depends on the TV show type – I think a lot of shows w/ more episodic formats rather than overarching plots “come into their own” a little better after Season 1
i supposeeeee thats possible yeah but theres usually enough time to put a few good songs in there and having already made an album helps so much
good example of this is US office season 2 which is sooo much better than 1

hm. i liked atla 1 better. i stopped 2 halfway because it felt like the plot for 2 felt disjointed and I couldn’t stand it.
sounds like you didn’t try hard enough since you’re on an English forum talking about how you wish you could talk to people who can read a chinese book!!

idk i just got really annoyed the plot for atla 2 was choppy. i liked the worldbuilding but like nothing else was cutting it for me. i didn’t make it through the first part.
by comparison atla sounds like a cohesive story even if it eats at the worldbuilding a bit so at least I can follow what’s going on and reasonably fill in the gaps
