I’m not sure why they haven’t fixed this policy given my cousin went here like years ago and reported this same phenomenon. Like, it feels like you can pretty easily change the rules such that this incentive to destroy your laptop does not exist

I think that the school offering a brand new laptop no questions asked is the result of them having too much money. I also thought that you said students already break their intact laptops just for fun “people already do this”

And it’s not like the new laptops are any significant portion of tuition, they just raise it by the corresponding amount. They don’t just have the money lying around, they’re charging us
