SOBBING

my perspective is biased since i only really gained intenet access when i was older
the age we live in is different

kids teased me for not having a phone when i was little but we played tag outside anyway and it didnt matter in the slightest now kids probably sit on their phone all the time

yea i think certain kinds of “deep in internet culture” are bad but

I am destined to try to invent superhero powers in DnD form and imagine scenarios with players trying them dramatically all in the comfort of my head

to be brutally honest, 90% of people who are into super obscure internet cultures that arent related to irl stuffs have some underlying problems

i do agree that internet/computer time should be limited. i didnt get my first phone until 7th grade and i think that wa sperfectly fine, but i still had unlimited access to my i-pad and the computer. i think id still give my kid access but id monitor what they’re doing (giving more freedom as they age) and also limit the time they can spend on it a week so theyre more willing to get into books and other physical activities

also tbf there IS a connection between internet escapism and having bad circumstances irl because of the, you know, escapism part but

I think it’s more fun playing with somebody else with toys than just yourself. I did that with my neighbor
