I tend to associate whatever I’m studying with memories of like… what I was doing when I was studying that

So I can recollect things by thinking about where i was and what i was listening to when i studied that specific thing

Definitely recommend music or some other sort of background noise if ur like that too

Nothing too distracting tho

Don’t listen to New Music if you’d want to pay attention to the lyrics. Familiar stuff is best imo, unless its instrumental

Any music is fine as long as they don’t have lyrics you can understand.
I listen to YOASOBI’s Harujion when working.

Also keep reminding urself that if u don’t study u’ll fail or disappoint ur professor

This is probably a bad mindset but it motivates me lmao

this is an actual thing! Taste and smell also help a lot too, so (if youre able to) eating bubblegum while studying and then eating bubblegum while taking a test will improve your recall

Or be like me and have a classmate u can’t stand and study extra hard out of spite so you absolutely demolish them and get a much higher grade

I’m not so LG anymore sorry tutuu

some tips that help me as well

reward yourself often while studying if you dont like it. Im talking like do 15-20 minutes of work, then a 30 minute break. Something I like to do as well is play a game where theres downtime sometimes (like you die and have to respawn), and use that deadtime to take a glance at your notes and try and remember everything you can.

Make connections between stuff, both for a deeper understanding and for helping recall.

If you need to remember a specific set of details, use memory tricks to help. My personally I love mneomnics and rhymes which don’t actually make much sense (for example, when i was learning the periodic table I remembered Ag because “AG I dropped silver on my foot” and Sn as “sin = tin”) Memory palaces also work super well and can help if you are struggling to remeber a particular part of something

Study spacenis also super important, me personally I like to study alone so i like to study at my desk, but studying in a similar enviornment to where you will be can help a lot. Like if you know where an exam will be, studying in that room for that exam ahead of time can improve recall

Also eat well, sleep right, etc etc. Do not cram. Its better to get good sleep than cram and not sleep well
