your what
Based but
this feels like such an american thing lol no one cares about other’s grades here apart from ‘person is smart i will copy their work’
havent been to a school in about 5 years thiough so im possibly washed
everything is a competition in the US tbh
i remember in high school how after any test/exam everyone would immediately start comparing scores, which feels great if you did good, and terrible if you did poorly
most grading systems will also tell you the median, mode, high, and low of grades received for an assignment
where i went, the score went from 1-10
passing score was 4
if you got 3, rip bozo
if you got 4, good job
if you got 5 or above, genius
the only thing we cared about is to not get a failing score by the end of the year so we dont have to sit during summer
tutuu might relate since he is a bit older and eastern europe, culture might be similar
silviu might be too young kids are werid nowadays
what.
what is confusing about my statement
'm surprised you haven’t heard that bit before
i’ve heard that european classes were more generous i haven’t heard they’re that different (though i’m also at nerd school so my perceptions might be extra warped)
like in my mind anything below a 80% is bad
thats cause we dont care about being nerds, 4 is generally the score you get if you have a basic understanding of a subject here, to get ahigher score you tend to need a higher grasp
in math for example you get a task and it has a) b) and c)
a is generally just a formula with basic numbers, enough for 4
b is the formula with more advanced stuff thrown in from previous topics for like a 6 or 7
c is nerd stuff
was there not one person complaining that “Europeans have a passing grade of [50%] for their tests!!!”
No not really
that would explain why americans think 7 equates to being average
there are allegedly people and/or parents here who think anything less than an A (94%) is bad but i honestly don’t know where they are
i know some people like that, whos opinion changed very quickly after doing engineering in college lmao
now they’re like “yeah I got a 65, highest in the class tho”
