Because I have no business with any of them and I’m focusing on my shit, rather than whatever irrelevant bullshit is going on with people that I hold absolutely zero interest in.
In the moment: Oh nooo why did my braincells freeze, I literally knew this subject I could’ve done so much better
The others:
good job
Civil law too.
Recieved an 8. And I was like oh my gracious why did I write this word when I did not even know what it meant.
Meanwhile others with 5 and 6:
At our school we used to get “gifted children” but except of being introvertedly shy they’d be bratty and spotlight junky
For high school and uni. It’s exactly like you say, nobody is too interested and concentrated on grades
maybe im wrong and this is just a thing in a few cities (namely chicago, where i had known about it)
it exists, just not as popular as i thought. i assumed basically all big cities do this (a few do, but apparently not most)
from what I understand from a lil bit of googling and talking to people is getting into a good selective enrollment school can then lead to better opportunities, better chance of going to college/succeeding in college, etc etc
Ima ask the professor if he can send me a pdf of my final so I can post it here
Also I’m doing the math, he had a 2 point bonus assignment, apparently that means with all the math added up I had a 89.57, so maybe he didn’t curve I just did good enough on the final to slide by an A with rounding
He also gave us 8 bonus points on a project. We had a 91 on the project I think. No one got a 100. The 8 led to us to a 91. It turns out that while he wanted people to simulate the comm system on simulink, no one (besides me) figured out how to do it so he made it bonus
yeah i mean i do agree options like this can exist
they just are not at all representative of the overall US education system as a whole
it’s also not really the same thing as I was describing re:needing to apply to determine schools, because there is always the same default option for everyone
you’re never locked out of a default public school based on exam scores
Which, I don’t blame them. There isn’t a lot of resources out there on designing 5G in Simulink or fiber optics in simulink. You would need to understand the concepts of what fiber optics is actually doing to figure out how to model it. You have data flowing from OLT. Binary 1 or 0, which can be modeled as a random integer generator between 1 and 0. You need to figure out a good modulation technique for your system as well, along with figuring out how fast the data speed will be based off your techniques. I used QPKS which allows us to send two digits at once
I then used TDM which is basically stating that each data is given their own time slot. House 1 has 2 time slots. Time slot for sending and time slot for reciving data. It can only read the data during its specific timeslot, and can only send data during its specific timeslot. This is not as good as WDM jmo but I couldn’t figure out how to get WDM to work at simulink.
You multiplex the QPSK waves together, which, the waves are only being sent during its specific timeslot, otherwise they are transmitting a zero iirc. Then you can attach noise to it, model the gain loss from splitters and fiber attentuation.
To be honest, if there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s the fact that I’m very good at doing things I have no experince in doing.
what does sin(x+b) have to do with anything
In comms systems, we can’t send binary digits over long distances so we take a wave, like a sin wave, and modulate it (mess with it) in order to encode information. By changing the phase of a sin wave, we can encode information. QPSK is called Quadrature Phase Shift Keying
qpsk goated
I’m polishing up my resume later today then I’m going to start applying to jobs tomorrow. I don’t have any internship experince, but I have a lot of projects I could talk about that I did during school, and I have the research job I could also talk about, so I’m feeling pretty good about my chances. I just got to not act like I’m anxious during interviews which is a struggle because I do have anxiety
I’m hoping to get into the power industry but I’m fine with whatever I get my hands on first. I can always move onto the power industry later
