ALSO I found a good comment but IDK where it is but
Mathematicians: dy/dx isn’t a fraction
Also mathematicians: \frac{dy}{dx}

True
God only knows what they’re doing in our grad level complex class
we literally just started this today
my professor wants to get all the way to the residue theorem but we’re going kinda slow
if it’s only 5 points it’s presumably not too hard once you have the result
Nah there’s usually hard extra credit for not that many points, that’s why it’s marked as extra credit
Probably not terribly hard but extra credit is disprportionately low points
Mew
oh its grad level
that would explain it
No ours is NOT grad level. There’s a different grad level complex class that my friend is taking
And if our normal complex class is harder than benguined’s grad level complex class then god knows what’s going on in OUR grad level class
Last night one of my friends said “cop car”, in reference to, well, a cop car, and I heard “comp var” as in “complex variables”
Compvar tests are being handed back very slowly. I’m scared
nyaaaaaaaaaaa is it a class where you get told “Hey all these theorems are true we’re not proving them now go solve the problems with them nya”
84/90
successwin?
Tolerable. I’ll live
I got 105/125 possible points, but the take-home exam portion has diminished returns. I could’ve gotten a 94/90 if my takehome work was perfect
I lost 4 points for not explaining why |z|=3|z-1| or alternatively y=±sqrt(-x^2+9/4x-9/8) is a ~circle
I lost 1 point for sometihng on a problem I can’t really read what
I lost 8 points on the “describe the Riemann surface structure” question because I didn’t know what the fuck description he was looking for
I lost 5 points because my funny branch cuts are discontinuous on the real axis (fair enough I missed that)
I lost 1 point for not putting absolute value marks on a definition of a modulus
I can’t find the last point I lost
