i tried to record this just so i can see the sound in video but it just sounds infinitely spooker for some reason

nyaaaaaa this is what we had
we used the taylor series expansion for e^x to get the formula for e^i*theta

thtbthbthtbhtb we’re shown a few proofs
only the easy ones though and usually any messy details are handwaved away

We had this too and it was a moment of this type:

Every time he mentions a derivation we all try to convince ihm tha twe very badly want to see the derivation and it’s just so very interesting to us (he delays the homework if his lectures take too long)

NYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ask him to prove everything real analysis style thbthbthtbhtbthb
say the class feels too hand-wavy!!

I finally spoke up in his class recently and it was to say ā€œyou spent a long time doing algebra there but you could’ve done way faster since it was a difference of squares, is there a reason for that?ā€ and the answer was No difference of squares works. And he thanked me for saying this instead of killing me on the spot

nyaaaaaaa are your classes all in lecture halls

This is in aclassroom instead of a lecture hall. The split is:

  1. Organic chemistry - large and very noisy lecture hall everybody is always talking
  2. Chemistry major lab for chemistry majors - there’s like ten of us it’s a classroom then a lab
  3. ODEs - classroom, people odn’t come to lecture because the professor isnt’ very good at teaching so he’s always begging us to ask questions
  4. Physical chemistry - classroom
  5. ACalc - in one of those in-between classrooms that’s kind of like a lecture hall. The professor teaches from a pit like a lectur ehall. But there’s a lot of desk space and the occupancy numbers are more like a classroom

all my classes are in, like, normal-ish rooms
so there’s 30 people max per section

this means that it’s easy to ask questions (and some professors will cycle through the class and every student will get asked something)

many sections have way less
my real analysis class is only 15 people

I searched all of tumblr for posts tagged fake analysis and there was a Goncharov post and this
