my personal favorite case is the guy who did it for a nats, still only got second because the team he lost to was genuinely one of the best high school quizbowl teams of all time, then tried to do it again at another nats but got caught when the guy who’s email he spoofed happened to be right next to the guy he tried to get the packets from

i think it was a different year but they showed up to acf nats (college nats) one year and finished in the top half
prime state college was something else
they don’t let high school teams show up to college nats anymore. so sad.
