- groups of permutations
- that every permutation can be written as either an even or odd number of transpositions, but not both
- we did NOT learn that every group is isomorphic to a group of permutations (so sad no cure!)
- that every permutation can be written as a product of disjoint closed loops, and that the order of a permutation is the least common multiple of the lengths of these closed loops
