Ad Vitam Aeternam (Roleplay) - 6

“Would you happen to be informed of the number of witnesses for this case?”

“Two witnessed the defendant enter the building, and being the only one with the opportunity to set this fire; or directly saw her start the fire. Two policemen and two firefighters saw a witness and the defendant fighting.”

The judge begins to nod to himself.

“Would you happen to have more than one statement from the protected witness?”

She speaks robotically, as if she’s running through a script. “Several recountings of the same event. No discrepancies.”

“Were there any cameras in the neighborhood that captured the events of the incident?”

“No.”

The judge begins to stroke his beard. “Does the defense have any more questions for this witness? I am ready to declare my verdict.”

That’s an issue.

“I… do not, your honor.”

“Alright. It has become apparent to me that no other suspects are visible within this case, an eyewitness has seen the defendant plotting the crime, and the defendant has admitted to what may, at best, criminal negligence.”

Violetta leans on Sincred’s shoulder, before remembering she’s in court, and jolting back up.

“I declare the defendant Guilty. May Arius Dalton please see me in my chambers.”

COURT ENDED
