Backstory: Renata is an entomology major working on finishing her master’s thesis. After finishing her first year of her master’s program, she decided to take a year off to work and raise some more money to finish school.
In hindsight, looking for housing while tired was probably not the move. Renata barely even remembered signing the lease. Hopefully this place has a better mattress than her old apartment. She’s been feeling really tired lately, even though her sleep schedule has been pretty good this week.
Relatively speaking, of course. 6 hours of sleep is still a 50% improvement over 4 hours of sleep, which is what she was getting last week. Was it last week? Whichever week she went thrifting and scored that sweet hairclip.
Anyways, hopefully the neighbors are nice. Renata really needs to catch up on her sleep.

Backstory: A fragment of the great Nothing that thought itself out of existence at the beginning of the world, perennially reincarnating as a mostly average person with greater than average aptitude toward comprehending The Horrors. Doomed to perpetually die in obscurity as penance for sins committed by past lives. In this current life, Akodo’s strange behavior regarding ‘seeing people that aren’t there’ has been deemed as a sign of mental illness. Akodo is eccentric, but he is very sound of mind. He believes his unnatural traits, while a curse, are something that can be put to good use through the Locum Institute…not that he thinks there was much of a choice in the first place.

Arius killing Akodo probably won’t matter in the grander scheme, but if it means I get to delay a potential sequel to this story, then I’ll do anything to accomplish it.
The puzzle piece (i.e., The End is the Beginning is the End) was taken away -from what I understand by the cellphone booth, somehow- so I couldn’t destroy it. (Unfortunately.)
That left me with eliminating Akodo, who apparently knew how to “utilize it” to alter the past. (Somehow.) I can’t have that. Time travel means setting the present chronology to an instance when Arius is alive. That is a no-go; I won’t let my creation be puppeteered by anyone other than myself.

Unfortunately, Arius was a fan-favorite character, so we’re going to make two prequel series and a film trilogy based on him.

No sequels. No prequels. Single-use characters ought to die after their single usage.
(The only one who has escaped Death so far is just Darion. He is still alive because I am interested in the sequel of the game he was in.)
