the problem with stormcaught preacher is that its actively asking to just break the script lol

I’d like a reverse game where demons and monsters have to figure out the townsfolk

I think this has been done before

not surprised honestly

In fairness it had no outsiders and the only demon was Monsta so

Innovation?

the thing is imp kinda doesnt work because they just get pit hagged and assassinated and godfather killed and witch killed
monsta works fine because you cant really hag them out of existence
legion is honestly funny enough that its worth putting it in

if you have no outsiders then like, whats the point
at the very least add a drunk and allow it to be duplicated
curious about their minion choices

my rationale was
“is this idiotic? no? okay just slam it in”

slightly more serious script
oops! all widows

Absolute nightmare

Alchemist Pit Hag + Lil’ Monsta.

Can I receive critique on this script I made last week?

whats your idea behind making it
what do you want the script to do

The premise of the script is given away by the title: Trust is Dead.

First of all, you can’t trust the players dying at night (unlike in most games). The most recently killed player could be the jumped Fang Gu, or a Vigor-killed Minion, or a Legion killed in the night.

The only sources of droisoning in this script come from the Sailor and Widow, but you may or may not be able to trust any players claiming to be or hear either. If a player claims to hear the Widow’s call, they might be good; or they could be an evil player lying. You could execute someone claiming Sailor, but they might have been DA protected.

Speaking of Minions, the Widow and Cerenovus can only make themselves known to specific players. The DA and Witch’s abilities are witnessed publicly, but there is an Alchemist on the script. Anyone can claim Goblin, and due to the nature of the script there isn’t easy confirmation anywhere.

Pixie and Choirboy will both know another role that is in play, but there’s nobody proving that either of those two are being honest. Balloonist / Fang Gu / Vigormortis can mess with the Outsider count, meaning even that isn’t safe. This script really helps the Oracle to shine, if they can be trusted.

Juggler can help with that early trust, and maybe the Cannibal can juggle on a later day as well. The Magician and Lunatic tokens mean even evil players can’t necessarily trust their team. And don’t get me started on someone claiming to be the Atheist.

Acrobat is there to help locate Widow or Sailor droisoning, but in most cases they will survive the entire game; meaning they won’t be confirmed. Recluse is there to mess with certain info roles, but it isn’t crippling. Barber is Barber, I thought it would be fun to put in there if someone claims Barber and dies, but nobody reports their characters being swapped.

My main concern was that the lack of confirmable information would be too punishing for the Good team.

first impression is that i think there should be more droisoning
i think that its a 5-minion script: if you dont put widow in every time (and everyone will know if there’s no widow in the game, since players will often force the widow calls to out immediately and if its not a 1-minion game then you ) then all the oracle, balloonist, pixie, bounty hunter, juggler can just destroy

acrobat on this script does nothing besides 1. hard-confirming the sailor and themselves and 2. hard-confirming the widow poisoned player, the widow ping receiver, and themselves. When it doesn’t do that, it’s a VT. I understand why you put it in, but you’re putting it in to serve the role of a townsfolk when its an outsider.

I think the execution-failure suite is lacking. if someone is executed and doesnt die and theyre not a sailor claim then they were protected by a DA → probably evil which makes the DA a bit lackluster here in my opinion

i think overall you underestimate the power that a bunch of good players can have in trust-chaining each other
juggler-confirmed choirboy? trust chain of 3 players, right there. pixie? built in trust chainer.
exacerbated by the magician stopping minions from getting bluffs or demons from getting grims on d1 before theyre expected to hardclaim and you can end up with lots of mech locked games

takeaways
lacking on droisoning, and the ways that the droisoning can happen is incredbly limited and partially traceable
acrobat is a townsfolk on this script (replacing it with drunk/puzzlemaster or the like would take out 2 birds with one stone)
da doesn’t really have a chance to shine with sailor being the only execution-survivor

i feel like it would help you if you had a more specific guiding image than what i picked up here
because from what i can tell the main idea is “what if i had a script where nobody was really confirmable?”
but that’s the idea of many scripts, really. BotC is designed to not have many hard-confirms
something more specific, perhaps. like “what if nobody had information that let them trust other people?” would lead to something more unique and more forceful of a script
