BOTC/BOTF Discussion Thread 2

New and fun townsfolk role would make the demon believe they are a minion, and minion/s all believe they are the demon. If any of them are executed, their team wins. Each night, you choose your alignment. You become that alignment even if drunk or poisoned.

It might work in a base-1 minion game. (where the Demon count and the minion count is the same.)

But how would you sell this misinfo with multiple minions in the game?
How would it interact with Lil monsta/Kazali/Typhon (and Legion/Riot)?
Who would make the kills?

“Their team wins” refers to the townsfolk.

whoever makes next game can we add a scarlet woman as 5th minion to script

i really enjoy botc on forums but whyyyy do they always end early

also i was bored and designed a custom script around revival which i think is an unexplored space because participating when dead is my fav thing about the game and revival makes it even more fun.

I will share it here and have it be roasted as someone who irl has only ever played trouble brewing (I tried one game of SnV and gave up because it was stupid)

I’m thinking that each minion gets different demon info.
Kazali would see themselves as a minion and would get clues on if they wake up depending on the token
It would be randomised.

i tried to make a homebrew once about the idea of reviving once.

revival is something I have no idea how to approach design-wise lol

it’s really hard to break the fact that it’s incredibly good-sided

I think revival as a concept feels better in cases where the evil team doesn’t necessarily rely on killing to win, without just making it a reversed wincon. Damsel would play nicely, but with more of that. Maybe with the Au’Wre it’d be cool so that reviving evil players could also be a play for mutual benefit.

yeah true

it is, admittedly, less busted as shit in botc b/c of the whole flipless deathless thing but it’s still busted as hell

i saw an idea for it once i think? i can’t tell you where to find it now but it existed
it being

  1. evil have insane KP numbers
  2. when someone is revived, if they die again they always count as dead for evil wincon
  3. both sides have semi-frequent revives

it mgiht’ve even included a level of auto-revive, but i can’t say for sure on that oen

the other route you can go is a time loop game, in which everyone resets to D1

but this functions closer to combinatorics imo
