Cookie Thread Act 3: The Cookie Strikes Back

thinking about the time i was mafia and utilized overturned mech to survive an entire day phase and some change after i got caught

this was the same game where someone pasted their roletext and got away with it. and the fake masonry and the cult blah blah blah

Thinking about the time I was outed mafia and we had the win locked but there was still a 3P alive so I spent the entire day talking about riichi mahjong and slowly revealing my team one by one

i havent quite thought that far ahead i was just thinking about some roles i wanted to see and i was like “wait i can just. make a setup with those roles”

altho tbh im not sure how to describe ‘tone’ in a mafia setup

how evil
Scale of 1 to 10

Like, chaotic, conspiratorial, freeing, some overarching theme that defines your game design process.

my best advice is to not take advice from the guy who advertised a mafia game and then made people play a board game that occasionally had vague overtones of mafia

i just put things together until it feels right

I will never design a setup it’s unethical

7 is a good number for that id say. Go evil mode

katze and story team up against a greater evil

i designed a setup once. it was quite egregiously scum sided. if i design another setup it will happen again

classics maf has warped my ability to create a balanced game because i know what it’s like to be mafia in a townsided game. winning is exhilarating if you can pull it off but in the moment shit sucks

Shoutout to Stellaris where we lost like every single coin flip until I survived Brad’s 50% gun

Which he only had because he won a coin flip

stellaris was townsided and all. but classics makes stellaris look like the biggest cakewalk imaginable for scum
