I also don’t particularly like that you are fishing for abilities (p#89) that we have not used yet. It makes me feel like you have a hypothetical ability that can steal cards. The fact you’re asking for high EV cards like a block and a dayvig…grimace. She also lampshades the fact that she’s fishing in p#359, implying you kinda know this isn’t the move.

I believe the correct way to go about this game is to only claim your abilities once they are used. Since we are all naturally VT, any one of us could be a cop, tracker, watcher at any given time. This means it will make sense to full ability claim at the start of each day, but not before. It’s not helpful to give out information at other times.

I didn’t even think of card stealing abilities but I think the more likely threat would be a card that steals/takes away from someone’s deck size, since it’s explicitly stated in the OP that if your deck size gets reduced to 0 you die. Idk if there needs to be conditions for cards to be used but so far it doesn’t seem to be the case

I could get behind claiming abilities afterwards sure but I don’t see the risk in claiming them before either

Yeah no they fucking don’t. The discard action (and you choose to do it) lets you choose how many cards you want to get rid of. It’s implied (but not stated) that you can choose which ones you discard.
