DNC [1960:TMOP JFK Team Chat]

I kinda wonder if we should ignore Economy for the time being and just play Prime-Time Television?

Way I see it, they have two options for the upcoming turn:

  • They play another Economy card and just take the thing. No stopping them anyways, and they take the weak issue.
  • They prepare another issue, in which case we have tempo on both other issues and can play the 4 CP card the following turn.

Fair. We can do that

Prime Time Telly locked?

In my head, the way this goes is:

  • They play, like, a 3 CP card on either Defense/Civil Rights this turn.
  • We play Give Me A Week the following turn. On that turn:
    • They either play their card on the final issue, and we force a tie to resolve in our favor in Turn 4.
    • They take the issue from Turn 2, which is just the low-value one.

It would mildly suck if they did Economy on Turn 3 as their lock issue, or if they have a 4 CP card for Civil Rights (I will check if they have this), but I think we can at minimum guarantee a Defense win for 4 cubes in that world.

Sure

There are two:

  • Fatigue Sets In: If opponent’s candidate card is currently available for play, flip it over to its Exhausted side.
  • Republican TV Spots: Immediately move the Nixon candidate token to New York, but do no pay the normal travel costs for doing so. The Nixon player may place 3 media support cubes.

Rip.

We play gimme a week and let the issues resolve as they may?

I thought they’dve totally played republican TV spots rip

This is also where I’m at.

@Aleph Give me a week

Hm. Okay

I think we resolve Economy here with Herblock?
Give me a second to think through this.

also if you believe you’ll win an issue declare where you’d like your support cubes to go

They have two options:

  • Resolve Economy
    • If we resolve Defense: We take 4, they take 3, and Debates end 4-5.
    • If we resolve Economy:
      - If they win, they guarantee Debates end 4-5.
      - If they lose or tie, we win 7-2.
  • Play Defense
    • If we resolve Defense: We take 3 cubes.
      - If they have a second Defense card, we win 7-2.
      - If they have a second Economy card, same tie as before.
    • If we resolve Economy: We take 3 cubes. Same thing as “resolve Defense”, but vice versa (second Economy good for us, second Defense bad for us).

I think I like the “we resolve Economy” states better?

Hmhmhmhmhm

Or, rather, I think it more likely that they have a second Economy than that they have a second Defense.
