the drawback is that true polymorph is a focus spell until you finish casting
with a 24 hour cast time
so if you take even a single point of damage you risk turning back

Having a lot of posts is virtually nrver clearing but Brad has also got good content that I’m willing to give him a townlean for.
true polymorph is really weird
it reads like wotc wanted a spell that could do anything
but then realised it would break the game
so they wheeled it back halfway to make it weird
