FAM5 - Thread 5 - Day 4

most people probably vote post-ITA3 here, it’s when we get all our info from flips for the day

I haven’t forgotten, ye. It’s just broadly important to hear others affirm their own townreads ahead of time so we have discussion. I’ll count your view here.

For anyone else next.

I will, again, repeat this point

I’m not taking this as a valid mech-reason to put someone into town

Otherwise we should take lol outing the fact he had a shot immediately as making him a mech-reason to be town (Something I was immediately informed was not a “mech reason”)

I’m singling out Cape because Cape is confirmed town in every world except for being a godfather, in which case none of it matters.

Daeron isn’t greenchecked as town, Daeron is town by “implication due to being afflicted by Mafia in such fashion that makes little sense as an internal Mafia gambit to misclear one of their own.” Therefore, I placed Daeron into the subsequent due tier for sorting reasons — not because they should die and it’s an excuse to frame them later or anything.

I don’t see this as a simple “implication”

I think the world where Daeron is apparently wolf who planned literally every single thing on Day 2 is just as out there as a Cape godfather world, if not even more so?

I genuinely think Daeron is more confirmed than Cape and I’m not even going to rescind that, Daeron has mech that feels more viable and more socially viable aspects here

Do you have anyone you’d like to substitute Sulit’s position with?

No, because I can’t just invent a mech-reason someone is town

If you want to make a mech readslist, make it a mech readslist, then merge it with social reads, don’t piff and paff with it

I think sulit is probably just town, but I’m not going to say they have the mech reason going for them even though they killed EW and ITA’d Carroty for no reason, because that goes completely against your entire idea for the mech readslist

I don’t think I can logically disagree that it’s against the established framework, because it is. Sure.
I’m more confident in citing Sulit as town because Hero felt assured in such from this message, even if it wasn’t really explained thereafter (#575) — it wasn’t explained so it’s something we ever need to just trust or not.

this post holds zero mechanical significance to someone like me who has no clue about what sulit’s role even is and it shouldn’t hold any mechanical significance to you

this means literally nothing to me, it reads as the same bread and butter that your role did at the SOD2

i agree with wazza

i don’t know how much solving i’ll be able to get done rn for reasons that are not “i won’t be in the thread”; though if anyone wants to talk about specifically YBW i’d be down

The fact that an asterisk exists at all sorta necessitates the separation of logic because we’re distinguishing shades of players who shouldn’t be killed either way so I don’t think this is a super pertinent distinction, here. If there were a thunderdome between Daeron and any of the top 4 players (post v!Silviu flip), I don’t think it’d be reasonable to kill any of the first four instead — hence why I don’t think this works?

Socially speaking you might feel this way, and that’s fair, but moving people based on the likeliness of certain ventures instead of just refreshing ourselves on which slots should be green at all feels more useful than debating about how green they’d be. Or red, for that matter, since ITA3’s coming up in an hour.

if these are the only mech clears we have, that’s fine, I see nothing wrong with it, it’s a lot more than you’d expect to have at this point of the game considering all our top towns keep dying

we genuinely don’t need to bloat the pool and we really don’t want to

But I could quite literally say the same asterisk exists for Cape? Something I feel is much more so.

I also should mention btw I have no clue who made the greencheck on Cape lmfao so I could be waffling but at the end of the day, there’s an asterisk on everyone, there’s technically no innocent child here.

You can’t say I may feel this way socially speaking when both the asterisk applies for Cape and Daeron, they both have contingencies, Daeron’s is much more social while Cape’s is much more mechanical for the asterisks. Where do you draw the line here? You can’t pick and choose.

Hero was consistent on it for what it’s worth.

Protesting the greencheck on Cape without knowing the source feels odd but sure.
Gori, a flipped villager, parity copped Cape with Spooky — another flipped villager.

oh ffs I remember this mech and it is literally just a fruit vendor

this does not help me, I’ve seen mafia fruit vendors and I’ve also seen flipped mafia roles that I’d consider to be worse than just a simple fruit vendor

idk i like YbW’s posting in thread d1 see how paranoia comes up but

I’m not protesting the greencheck, I never have. I’m protesting your disagreement with what I believe to be with Daeron, I’m just simply using what you’re saying to make you realise that you’re doing one thing with Cape, but refusing the same with Daeron, what is the jurisdiction? Why is one considered an asterisk while the other isn’t when they both have asterisks?

Okay no I remember it now it’s just hard to remember everything in a mash sometimes zzz
