I think it’s that they had the option & chose to let bys get shot instead of taking the extra KP? I never actually went back to reread the post to be honest
Remember that wolves in mashes will almost always have some sort of ways available for them to look good based on mechanics, and any decent wolfteam will set up people to look good on mechanics. Seemingly clearish, even. Mechs are not everything, don’t try to solve the game on pure mech. Play werewolf. Etc.

If the parties guess the killer, everyone submits a vig shot who was not the killer, and a random one is chosen
Otherwise the killer gets another vig shot
