well ok tbf my other radical position is i generally dont put much weight in catfit and moreso just vote songs that i like musically
like that waiting cat that had the jeopardy theme and 4’33" lol obv those were catfits but i didnt want to listen to them
i guess with walruses and music league i view the cat as a vehicle to facilitate music recs but the main objective is sharing cool music that one likes with other ppl in hopes that they like it and in hopes of receiving cool recs of music other ppl like. it isn’t about winning best category fit for me that’s just a way to kickstart inspiration and have a loose theme. maybe that’s how some of you view the game but my priority is music sharing shrug

i mean sure and I don’t disagree but if the category is “music to help you sleep” and somebody submits Through The Fire And The Flames I aint voting that no matter how much I think the song is good

like fundamentally when somebody puts a category together their hope is usually to get a specific flavor of music
ignoring that entirely to just sub a cool song defeats the purpose of the entire event in a way
so as I said as long as I can see the catfit I’m with you that I wouldn’t autofail something for no description
but I’m still gonna wanna be able to make out the catfit on my own in that case
okay this being said I will admit that looking at the submissions now, people who actively went out of their way to be obscene in their submissions are not endearing me to be generous in my interpretation of their songs’ catfit
like that’s just so excessive and mean for literally no reason
