Itās complicated.
The simulation is effectively āagents will respond to immediate threats and enact upon immediate threatsā, maximizing damage dealt and minimizing damage taken. From there, you add exceptions: Zug will take a free kill if he can, but he will defer the kill to a Scaler if they can take the kill first and if he can hit the other target for super-effective damage. Areteās team uses the additional bench information as part of switch-calcs to determine what move to choice-lock into. FoLermon opposing Magnus will determine who Magnus can deal the most damage to and account for that in their calculations.
Itās a lot of manual overriding, and while I donāt think it can perfectly capture a game, it can do a strong enough job to know roughly how powerful an FoLermon is.
Magnus and Zug, for example, are FoLermon that I knew could be extremely strong, but they also had a bad dual typing and ranked lowest on the chart, so I felt comfortable letting them run that way. By the same token, Geyde is the most powerful FoLermon in the game but is less powerful in practice by being more luck-based. Itās about having a baseline and evaluating from there.
did you program to account for the element of cutting 2 mons from your team after analyzing opponentās team? or did you simulate 4 random mons vs 4 random mons? that could maybe be another thing

in folermon 3 id like every mon to have either a trait or a special ability, perhaps go up to 3 abilities in order to do so. and every mon to have different speed. these are my 2 main goals
