I don’t understand why everyone was?/is? sus of hippo. I saw hippo’s explanations that he was playing differently than usual, but I think I missed the initial push or something

i think hippo’s vote on eve was an opportunistic sort of wolfy, the absolute most basic sort of read but it pinged quite strongly. i think his catchup posts have been underwhelming and don’t give the impression of having real thoughts on the game. i don’t care about his meta defense, i know he -can- play better as scum but that does not preclude him from being scum here and i’m not going to townread him for it

You two seem very disjointed and all over the place in a way that feels unorganized and towny i think.
Also i think gummy suspecting me, tunneling me after i started deliberately making bad posts, and continuing even after i revealed i was doing so was very believable as town (and honestly i find it kinda funny)

I will be honest, I get really overwhelmed every time I open this thread. I also don’t have a mental image for anyone in this lobby, so I find myself constantly pulling up the playerlist to have an idea on who’s name was shortened, etc. Sorry for this appeal, I’m just trying to explain my inactivity

i think i’ve talked about most of the strong townreads already. i normally don’t read people off how they talk to me but for may specifically, they’ve seen me give them the slip as scum a couple times and there was a sense of wanting to make sure i don’t get away with it again. i also feel like we’ve been aligning a lot with our views on certain players which is overall a good sign.
frost i am highly confident is town, he’s a very idiosyncratic player but i just get the feeling from his posts all the stuff he’s talking about he genuinely cares about and he’s digging into stuff that is important to him.
having to actually read soweli is new to me, she’s felt good but not in a way i’m fully confident about but i think the way she’s been interacting with people and trying to provoke content is +town, thoughts have felt decent.
melatonin i think responded well to my poke at them and the heads are dissonant in a way that feels real, like they’re both trying to solve but have had differing points of view, doesn’t feel manufactured/faked.
dia I lean to the way she’s responded to pressure as being unbothered, like she knows she is town and does not have anything to hide from people, there is a self-assuredness to her posting.
kii kind of gut pings towny to me even though he hasn’t done much, just a vague feeling off the way he’s talking. granted, there have been games where he was town where i found everything he said suspicious, so i don’t have a ton of confidence in that read.
snow i sort of buy as lost newbie in first FM game, but it’s not a strong read at all. still i think basically should ~never be the vote on Day 1, both because it’s bad form to yeet newbie who are trying their best, and because they will hopefully be more readable on future days.
frog simply hasn’t been very towny. hasn’t shown real investment in solving the game yet.
tutuu i am definitively not townreading. he writes a lot of nice words but i look at other people and they ping towny to me and so far he hasn’t. i think the stuff he focuses attention on like strong towning may feels a bit like misplaced energy, and i feel skeptical of the other places he has tried to push. I don’t think he really suspects me of powerwolfing with willow, that feels fake. I think he got thrown off by eve attacking him so strongly and has gotten overly caught up in self defense over continuing to solve which i think is a scummy behavior pattern.
carbonated also didn’t thrill me with the catchup posts and the stuff she was talking about, but that can easily be a playstyle thing, recognize error bars are probably wide here and wouldn’t touch her Day 1 based on that.
beancat is beancat, as said, nothing unexpected but i think other people have been towny.
hippo, as already stated. think he’s prooobably just mafia here.

it’s all good, i definitely can understand the pressure and the stress makes it harder to post. if you’re town i’d like for you to be able to share your thoughts, even if you’re unsure or they seem dumb, just because sharing your thoughts is the only way for people to be able to get a read on you.
Is there anyone in the game you’re familiar with/have played with before?

ftr i townread the way tutuu treated me because i don’t think tutuu thinks that making a long case on why i’m may is an especially productive use of time as wolf, like i don’t see tutuu sitting down and going “you know what, to be townread i’ll sit down and do some entirely NAI alt speculation”, and from a tutuu pov it’s also way easier to push me if i’m not known to be may, so why reveal it instead of sitting on it and letting people speculate

obviously it’s not clearing and i agree tutuu got a bit caught up in defense/arguments but i’m very used to tutuu doing that outside fm & as town. i gotta check the suspecting you of powerwolfing with willow because that sounds bad though.

ok breaking this down:
‘i don’t know how you found us so fast’ - general towntell though not enough like… annoyance to fit into the archetype of “Stop doing that I’m scary & have big ranges” that I’m trying to force it into & can easily be projected
“it doesn’t really mater for me since i’m townreading you” - I kind of get it but the actual reasoning is kinda… escaping me besides vibes, it has the shape of a good post but I don’t know why. However something not mattering because they townread you… it demonstrates a lack of curiosity as to what the machinations of your slot are as part of a read that evolves over time, either to help reinforce the read or bring the evidence into question again. As is it seems like melatonin is rejecting evidence that makes you look wolfy becuase she has you as town which. I don’t know. I’m also not wolfreading it hard despite all of this though and I don’t know why.

For context in the last game where all three of us were town, i suspected meow d1 and it took me until late d2 to find meow and gummy as town. In our last game, i was wolf and gummy and meow were town, and i left them alone for the most part. I think it makes a lot of sense that meow would be paranoid that i might be tmiing her as town
