Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Mafia - Night 2 [13/17]

what are your thoughts on frost? i remember him mentioning that you him and hippo were the “old guard” so i assume you have played a decent amount with him?

wait but willow is at the bottom of your readslist

oh wait i see nvm

I used to be on Hippo’s wagon and unvoted him to allow him to cook, missed the whole mason thing from him nearing end of day 1.

Snow as counterwagon, I see that happening now I think about it. Maybe there’s more to it than bussing Hippo

The vote itself looks fine

frost, can i ask the same question to you, what are your thoughts on kiiruma?

Frost seems fine to me at the moment which based on my accuracy this game, seems to suggest I should invert it.

As for Frost’s wording, this is accurate. Myself, Hippo and Frost are very much OGs here who’ve played a lot together and whatnot.

ok… i think i’m finally starting to understand what this post is trying to say (maybe bc its almost 4 am lmao).

wait so essentially frost is saying that one of the seven non jason/melatonin voters here is a wolf, which uh ig is A Read. and frost is choosing to focus on leafia/willow and eve/36501 bc he doesn’t like their voting progression or socials from d1. i believe he thinks melatonin and I are not w/w bc we wouldn’t be cross-voting d1 when we could have our votes on a villager. he never explains why not t/w, but i’m sure he has his reasons

lowkey want to clear frostwolf off this one post but i think it would be really bad and lazy of me to

This post though ^^

Apparently you do have some macro level threadstate reads you use and they are familiar to me!

So the first part wasn’t something I thought to mention because of my cynicism of pessimism; if there was a lot of infighting, lack of consensus, I experienced a lot of cog diss trying to sort multiple slots, there was a presence of somewhat odd nightkills and I saw people in the PoE fighting back harder than anyone else you can be sure I would be screaming about deep scum and power wolves until i turned blue in the face. In this case though I don’t see these indicators of danger which is a very encouraging sign. It’s not intuitive to me to share about an absence of signs indicating danger but maybe it’s something I can work in. I agree with tutuu’s assessment here to such an extent that I don’t feel motivated to play devil’s advocate gasp. The only parts I disagree with are that I don’t necessarily feel more comfortable knowing the town core is consisting of people who are polarized. Some players just improve suddenly or have a good game that puts them out of their scum range everyone has come to expect. This town clearing of polarized slots seems to allow for more situations where I see entire lobbies get swept and jumpscared by the postgame flips. I guess ultimately it’s good that there is meta indicating our reads are correct; it’s just something that’s also good to remain skeptical about IMO because again it’s the factor that I see become the most dangerous when manipulated by scum.

For the latter part, high paranoia gamestate reads where it’s like numbers + tutuu working together doesnt make sense to me in this context because in that scenario then more of the elements above should be present. With the “cant be that easy” solves then it depends on what that means cause scum can be starting to lurk out and if it looks too obvious to be true it can still just be true. It’s possible that the busser is also lurking now and then one of the last scum slots is in the quiet lurker slots who was offwagon for example. Im still fundamentally opposed to the idea of looking offwagon though without a good reason. OTOH beancat for example could be a good offwagon read maybe w/ the rationale they were either not around to bus hippo or felt it was too late and preferred to lurk it out.

Yeah frosty i followed soweli onto hippo to try to breakthrough the dia/frog wagons and later unvoted hippo too. It’s a good look for us.

I looked into ISO and he looks very null at first glance, here I extract some snippets:

Kiiruma is repeating the same words as putting Willow null townish from Tutuu, performative but doesnt look paired to me otherwise.

Would have been more criticism about the voting, like I did. But thats the strange thing here. By the time I voted Hippo by #930, 36501, Soweli and Catbae are voting him as well, the reasoning is not correct.

:no_entry_sign:

This is the response to Hippo voting on Eve’s wagon

:white_check_mark:

Soweli didn’t hesitate

:no_entry_sign:

Like 36501, Catbae is keeping eye open on Eve wagon, this is not a pressure vote

And finally, here is me. I argue this is not a pressure vote until I release him by the time I think he is cooking.

I think I have to read back from Tutuu’s ISO to understand his post, because the reply shows on Readlist of names with Hippo on bottom.

The switch is unusual since his opener has contrast mood and is rather amused by that.

Ah yeah, the respond to Tutuu’s action? I think Kiiruma should make a potshot who this evil player is.

I want to seeeeeeeeee

Link?

@jason.mrrown

ISO being small, I scrolled down at first and I begin with more analytical approach.

Yeah regardless of who wins and who’s mafia this has been a good effort by ~80% of the playerlist. Genuinely can’t ask for much more. If every game was like this katze and Arctic would return (maybe?)

@beancat who u think is mafia? U gotta make 15 game relevant posts per day phase bud

I feel this is the most important piece of the puzzle and answer this question, Is Kiiruma wolf or town?
