if you do this as a villager, it’s optimal to claim a red check and not rescind until after the player you killed is dead

for maximum benefit, do this when you’re already under a lot of suspicion – either you get a wolf executed and most likely clear yourself, or you’re wrong and get executed yourself, which likely would have happened regardless
