honestly I haven’t been reading a huge amount of fic on AO3 lately

I was worried when I first heard about the outage because it’s been a bit since I backed up my fic (+fic I’ve been gifted through exchanges), but it sounds like they’re saying they haven’t lost any data, so Hopefully it all gets sorted

I care about AO3 being down because regular maintenance with an estimated 12 hour downtime turning into 2-4 weeks of downtime has me so deeply curious as to the details. I’m not sure it’ll be all that interesting from a technical perspective because this could easily be a situation where someone dropped something critical that made a really expensive sound when it hit the floor, and the replacement components are not easily or quickly sourced. That would also explain why they’re not saying anything because it’s both embarrassing and too boring for the user base to continue to be sympathetic and patient. I’m really expecting it to be embarrassing though.
