no no this time it’s different because of instead of calculating formulas on my own I get the machine to do it and that’s the important part of the assignment

(this is actually way better than my accounting class but the instructions for this are also Bad so I’m hoping my interpretation of the formulas doesn’t uh. ruin my grade.)

and they’re also needlessly inefficient!

It tempts people to chose the store(chain) over others.

And a lot of people who aren’t bought in with sales are impulse buyers (the are regulars most likely), if they see something is cheaper than usual they buy a lot, even if it isn’t necessary.

Also people don’t buy only groceries on sale. Sometimes they chose a store based on a sale, and decide to buy their daily(weekly) groceries as well.

That’s about the regular sales.

They are the sales by perish date. If an item isn’t sold before the expiration date, the store has to discard those items, what is more than a 100% deficit. Storing and transporting trash has an associated cost too, which is higher for meat, dairy, vegetable and other organic stuff. (Even thoigh it is expired, it is still need to be cooled down, and it has a whole different elimination process.)

So selling those even with a 50% sale, make the store paying less, even if they get a deficit.

And like May said theire is clearence sale, when the store has a lot of something, and needs space.
(Altough the same reasoning I said above can applied about 30% of clearence sales, they are on sale, because they have so much, it would be expired, if it is sold on the regular basis.)

The other 70% is when the store needs space (either for new items, or the item on sale will get a new design.)

And there is close-out sale.

It’s usually happens when a seasonal item isn’t enough popular, and the store still has it after it’s season is over. (It is for saving place, for the most part of it.)

(And I just mention here close-out sale, where the store just try to save, what it can, before it closes its door forever.)

There is also loyalty sales. (Where store reward you buying in the same store(chain) multiple times.) It can happen with a lot of ways. (Usually with coupons, or vignette sales.) Which makes people more likely to buy in the same store, ( and they spend more this way.)

There are probably other type of sales. But these are the ones I could think of. (And the most likely reason for the sales viewed by the store.)

With friends it’s a conscious decision to just, like, trade off, I have a strict “nobody owes me eight dollars” policy
