i am (technically) graduating uni. as in im leaving early and theyre also just giving me a degree for fun. w scotland or whatever
congrats (technically)
despite the fact that I have been fairly frequently bake/cook ing (over the past few days) I don’t really see the point of it
i mean it pretty much always tastes better than anything else I eat but. it’s hard to really care all that much about it?
i mainly do it to kill time. which I guess is ultimately the point of everything I do.
eh I’m confusing. I’ll probably remember why (in greater detail) next time I get the urge, besides just seeing a recipe and thinking “that seems easy enough”. remind me to think of it.
I think it’s the feeling of physically making something that’s the enjoyable part.
Kinda like building LEGOs.
ash in his mind palace: how can I tie this conversation to building legos…
but that’s why it tastes good to me not really why I do it
Look, if I wanted to talk about LEGOs, I would just start talking about LEGOs directly.
No mercy there.
Go ahead.
I kinda wonder if you do a LEGO Ideas thing where it’s one of those Paper Theater things but made into LEGO form?
I feel like a lot of the current LEGO Ideas are kinda hit-or-miss? Really like the less reference-y stuff (Treehouse and Ship in a Bottle come to mind).
The River Steamboat one looks really nice, but it also seems like a lot of annoying details.
Might also be a mildly blasphemous take, but I kinda feel like the DnD set was a miss.
I could not tell you with certainty why this is the case, but I think it’s because it vaguely lacks cohesion? It’s supposed to be a slice of a larger world, but you compare that to my favorite set Ninjago City, and that’s held together by a strong vision for what the city looks like and how it’s evolved, and this set’s kinda, “We built a castle extending out of a tavern.”
Also think the world should’ve been larger. Large dragon is awesome, but it overshadows everything (compare to the dragon in Gringotts Bank).
I feel like Ninjago was at its best set-wise with the LEGO Ninjago Movie? Felt like they got to dig into more interesting design, especially with color, compared to the current sets kinda being ninja-color mechs and red temples.
Tournament Temple City’s blue roofs are doing a lot for me, and I wish they just expanded outside all their stuff looking similar.
LEGO One Piece is doing acceptably for me.
The Baratie Floating Restaurant in particular is a set I really wanna look into getting because it feels extremely vibrant, and the Going Merry reminds me of the Destiny’s Bounty I got several years ago (there’s a whole story with that one I will tell eventually), but I don’t think the other sets are doing as much for me. Hopefully Alabasta brings cooler things with it.
LEGO Icons is one I should look into more. Feel like they’ve done a lot of cool stuff (the Venetian neighborhood in particular looks really neat to me).
you’re done already?
Atlas is reading my screen (I was about to send that I was calling it a night there).
that’s embarrassing.
Then it’s a good thing I have zero care for your opinion on this topic.
