Most people don’t go hm today I will lie about liking my partner. It’s oh something feels weird but I bet it’ll go away soon. Oh I’m in a bad mood today my social battery is drained maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow. Et cetera. But like if you’re in a relationship with somebody you have to respect them enough to like talk about it rather than making the first verbal indication of the issue you give a unilateral decision to break up

They spent all that time thinking to themselves in their own head and viewed it as something that concerned primarily them. They didn’t lead with “hey I’ve been feeling off about this relationship recently when XYZ” or whatever they just went “I think we should end the relationship” and only even tried to elaborate when I asked. They’re not very socially graceful so I presume they simply did not have the capacity to do much better
