Okay but like
im gonna borrow from a few time loop-ish premises i know about here and create a few hypothetical alternate time loops

I feel like you’d find out incredibly early. I bet on try #2 or #3 i could get it done

Wouldn’t an addiction carry over between time loops, though?

I’m assuming not, but if it would, that’s actually a really cool premise for a short film

Hmm I mean we get into mind/body distinction here - addiction is usually thought of as a physical mechanism but realistically, like, memories and shit are also physical, so where do we draw the line

this one is borrowed from Places so im gonna spoil it. spoilers for That Game I Keep Talking About

okay so, it’s like, a normal time loop on the surface and at the start of everything. maybe cycles are a bit longer than a day, but no longer than a year. You do not remember the loops until a few times in, at which point you begin to remember everything that has happened in the loops. after you discover the loop you learn that the loop is the kind that creates many universes after the loop, and that the loop will end after, say, 250 loops.

What do you do?

Summary

realistically, with the knowledge that it’ll end after 250 loops, and that each loop creates a new universe, I’m just gonna throw out an estimate of 100 years time, I’d probably just try to be as benign and safe as possible and probably just try to hone artistic skills, and learn how to be nicer to people, etc. Also read a lot of books, try to gain a lifetime of general knowledge, etc.

more or less, ultimate self-improvement arc.

and also figure out a way to get absurdly rich with as few as possible ethical drawbacks

im curious if marissa and may will keep up their larger than life ambitions when they get older. a lot of people dream big when they’re young. then stuff happens and a lot of people grow dejected as the years go

I mean you have to come to terms with the fact that you can’t doe verything but in a timeloop scenario you literally can
